Information Technology

Information Communication Technology (ICT) is an integral part of the teaching and learning program offered at Caralee Community School. Teachers attend professional development and collaborate to promote sharing, investigating and creating with ICT in line with the Australian Curriculum. To achieve this, the school has invested in a wide range of technologies so children are equipped to use ICT at school, home and the workplace in the future.

Every class at Caralee Community School has an interactive whiteboard which teachers use to support learning in their classrooms. All classes have additional computers in the classroom which children can access regularly for research and word processing tasks. Children in years 3 to 6 have access to banks of the latest notebook computers and iPads. Children from Kindy to year 3 have access to iPads. The school has recently started an exciting program to replace our older notebooks with 30 Windows Surface RT tablet computers. Our strategy is to ensure children have access to a mix of the latest Apple and Microsoft applications and devices to ensure they have the best learning opportunities at school, home, High School and later in the workforce.
